Also known as the Balwyn Classic. By 1968 Village Theatres became the operator and around this time it was also known as the Balwyn International. (Windley & Page, p. 4) In 1993 alterations commenced to become a triple screen venue. In February 1994 cinema 1, 2 and 3 were opened.

"AZ Associated Film Distributors purchased the theatre in late 1986, running it in recent years under its Palace Cinemas banner." (Windley & Page, p. 4) The Palace Cinemas added 2 additional screens adjacent the property (2002).
