Opened by the Mayor of Hindmarsh, F.W. Dinnis on December 15 1923. The theatre screened Wednesday and thrusday nights, with a matinee on Saturday and on public holidays. The manager at the time was Gordon Duncan. (Burford 2008). Mr G Duncan operated an open-air picture theatre the previous summer.
